Legacy Devices & Maintenance

Older devices still need security fixes and stability work. I focus on practical backports and targeted fixes for Qualcomm-era platforms and 3.x kernels, without forcing major re-architecture.

What I do

  • Backport security and stability patches.
  • Fix kernel and HAL regressions that block releases.
  • Stabilize builds and reduce flaky CI failures.
  • Document risks and end-of-life options.

What you provide

  • Branch details, build instructions, and device history.
  • Crash reports, tombstones, or kernel logs.
  • Access to a reproducible build environment.

Deliverables

  • Patch series and build notes.
  • Stability fixes with a clear test plan.
  • Upgrade or long-term maintenance recommendations.

Typical timelines

  • Quick fixes and backports: 1–3 weeks.
  • Deeper stabilization: 4–8 weeks.
  • Longer maintenance: ongoing retainer.

Boundaries

I do not rewrite legacy platforms into modern Android releases. If a full rebase is needed, I will explain the effort and help you plan it.
